This page covers dj.mcsteelie.com, a set of browser-based tools for planning DJ sets. It is written to be read, not to cover anyone in legalese.

Your crate stays in your browser

When you load a rekordbox.xml export, playlist, CSV or text file into a tool, that file is read directly by your browser using the standard file API. It is parsed on your own machine and held in memory for the length of the visit.

The file is never uploaded. There is no server-side component to these tools, no database, and no account — so your library, your track titles and your cue points are not transmitted anywhere, and are not something anyone running this site could see even if asked. Close the tab and the parsed data is gone.

What is stored on your device

• Your light or dark theme choice, saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it next visit. It never leaves your device and is not readable by anyone else.

That is the only thing this site writes to your device on its own behalf. Advertising, if it is switched on, is covered below and may set its own cookies.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details a request needs in order to be answered — your IP address, the page requested, your browser's user agent, and the time — and uses them to deliver the page and to protect against abuse and attack. This is standard infrastructure logging, not analytics about you, and it is not used to build a profile.

Advertising

No advertising is running on this site today, and no third-party advertising script is loaded. If that changes, it will be Google AdSense, and this section describes what that will mean. This page will be updated with the date it goes live.

When advertising is enabled:

• Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
• If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising cookies are set, through Google's consent tooling.
• Ads never receive your crate file. Everything in the first section stays true — advertising sits alongside the tools, not inside them, and the tools keep running entirely in your browser.

Analytics

There is no analytics or tracking script on this site. If one is ever added it will be named here first.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

This site is run from Australia and handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Because there are no accounts and no submitted data, there is generally nothing held about you to access or correct — but if you believe otherwise, or want to raise a concern, get in touch and it will be dealt with.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters — particularly the advertising section — the date at the top will change with it.
